Okay, I don't mean to be an asshole for I'm sort of new to clan managing too. You can't just find someone who will host a good server for free. If you're looking for good hosting it's going to cost quite a bit of mula. I wouldn't mind running a server for I have the ability to use a T1 Network meaning I could host a shit load of people.

My computer at home also has almost 4 gig's of RAM and I also have a coolant system implemented into my computer so I could host probably a 30 player server from home.

Other than that, I'd strongly suggest you wait until you get more members for your clan before you even think about getting a server started up.

sorry dragonathan, but as long as you have assholes like lallaa in your clan, it isnt worth to get sponsored or sth.
maybe you remind what im talking about. he tk several times on our server (eclipse) just to annoy other people.

but in case your clan isnt so old, i wont really believe this.
anyway the only way to keep the good name of a clan is to kick such idiots. so plz have a look on your mates.

ways to host a good server:
1. pay someone for teh hard work, etc: about $30.00 per month USD
2. rent your own server, do the work yourself (about $26.00 USD last time I checked)
3. get a good internet connection (T1 or better) good, fast, well vented comp (hell, get one of those business servers and use it, it SHOULD be cheaper than renting in teh long run) and do teh hard work yourself.

*note* don't even THINK about hosting on DSL or less, there are a few servers that do, and god, are they slow.

so, hypothetcally, you have a server up and running, all is well. here are a few adminning tips from a player:

1. TK/wound=kick. repeated=ban. do it through PB if you want. beats teh crap outta putting up with it.

2. don't put up with BS. if someone is verbally abusive, kick 'em with a 5 minute ban. again, if it is repeated, make it longer. and if they change thier names, look at common traits. I'm not sure if you can do IP checks, but here are some things to look out for
(a) same ping. if it averages the same, there's a likely hood of it being the same persom. this is a preliminar measure, and isn't that big of a factor.
(b) same common errors/behavior. if someone uses certain words that arent common or has repeated spelling errors, think about it. (e.g. piece of farking n*gga munkey sh*t) or if they use the same weapons often, or always camp in certain spots, it could be them.
(c) clan tags. if you see a dude with a clan tag that comes back after a ban, with the same or a different name, research that clan (http://www.google.ca or the active clan list) and see if they have members with that name.

3. this is a big one!!!
NEVER KICK/BAN/MUTE BECAUSE OF PERSONAL GRUDGES! AND NEVER LET CLAN MEMBERS BREAK ANY RULES

I can't make that more clear. so the guy p*sses you off IRL, get over it, he may be an asset to the server (able to break spawnkills, all-around kind etc.). when it comes to clan members, they are just as important as if they were the public. they SHOULD NEVER be given favoritism (pass a vote because it's his/her idea, etc.) EVER! this makes your server and your clan look corrupt. remember: there is teh potential for anyone to join your clan, if there is a person abusing thier powers as a member, *boot*.

also, if you allow someone else to be admin, check on them. if it means getting a new username, so be it. if an admin is crappy, then I know that me and my friends will not play on it. remember, forums and other outside communication (xfire, friendship, etc.) can spread a bad word about your server.
