i personally think the compass should be A equipment that you can carry on,
just like you carry your nades, pistol, riffle, knife

the compass should be some hight-tech item,
that you can hold on your hands, the compass is something like A modern navigator,
that shows the map blue print on the display, to see where the bom should be placed/located, you have to check A blinking red light on the display,

so evrytime you wanna check where the bom is located,
just press key7, than you will hold your kompass on your left hand, while holding your weopon on the right hand, so you can still shoot while holding the compass.
but you cant aim on the iron sight,

devs should use there imagination how the high-tech compass should look like,
and if it looks like something that dont exist in the real world...

dont you mean PDAs and GPSs? yeah, that is quite correct and will make the game more realistic without affect gamepaly too much or as much as getting rid of the hud completely. that way, the compass is no longer part of the hud meaning that the rest of the hud can be shrunk down small enough to be seen and not crowd up the screen or look like its part o the FOV.

lol. you mean me, kozak, and flyhead, and some of the other active guys. well, since its just us, why wouldnt it be a pleasant forums. but the thing is, most of the devs are in TCE.main, TCE.US is just a NA community, well, that has some member that arent actually from NA. All we can hope now is that the devs can finish what thier working on soon, and have more than enough morale, and time to continue on and put in all these other features.

back to topic, I think they could use the same style in Doom3, where you can open up a PDA and do stuff with it. We could have the gps do that, but instead, it doesnt cover up the screen. In the gps, you can track teammates, objectives and stuff, then you can also use it to (not exactly a GPS device only) to do other stuff like hotwire enemy bombs (digital not analog bombs) and other stuff.

I take this as an insult.

Btw, I like the idea of a non-HUD compass. It has been discussed at tc.main several times.

btw i would love a pda in my hand, being able to analyze the situation. maybe something like a modified psp, cos it was that kickass wifi capability. and a cool feature would be remote detonation, place the thing on the ground and scuttle away, waiting for some dude to pass by. (also possible for suicide attempts ) or else if you died the pda thing would automatically blow up or become a mine ( prox mine or one that you have to step on.)
