not sure where these would fall, but possilbe light SAWS, ad here are some I came up with toda at the UN exhibit at our military museum:

BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) used by peacekeeping forces as a support weapon, fires 30-06 rounds, 20rd box mag.

that could go for specops, and to balance for terror

RPK. similar to AK, 30 rd "banana" magazine, fires 7.62 russian. it is still used, as it is a very reliable weapon, just like the AK-47.


now to balance:

BAR has fast and slow auto, fast being PDQ (I'd give it a fairl high modifyer, around 8-900 RPMS) and slow around 60 RPMs if possible

RPK could be set at lust over AK rate of fire, and slightly less powerful than the browning (makes up by larger mag size, and ossibly more mobility)
not sure if single exists on it, I'll upddate this with some research later on.

now, you may be saying "but the BA is a WW2 weapon, why put it in" because the UN currently s using it in some missions. suprised me too! it should be easy to get anims for, as there may be an open-source mod or two that has anims for it, and if not, meh.

if you don't like the idea, okay. I'm just tossing it out.

now, if we did an RPD/RPK for terror to balance the M249, we'd be stuck with having to choose belt or box for the minimi. I'd say, belt, but you only get one, and for the RPD/K go with two 75 rd drums.

The BAR seems a very odd weapon to include.

I know the M249 has been modelled, though.

If I ge tto choose between a rock and the BAR, I'd take the rock, that thing is old. I'd like the M249 to be included. Although I cant see its purpose in a place like TCE, it is great to have becuase of it's ammo capacity and rate of fire. Although if 200/100 rounds in a box sounds too big, the FN Minimi PARA (shortened variant would work pretty well with a smaller magazine/box.)

The BAR is a damn good weapon, and I'd be so up for challenging your rock slinging skills over my BAR skills, because I'd so dominate you with 30-6 rounds.

atleast the rock will disable the enemy. The BAR's weight will disable you from moving around that fast. A rock in the right place at the wrong time is pretty lethal.

Ok, first, RPK can fire in single fire mode. To the guy that doesn't know of it, http://www.world.guns.ru/machine/mg16-e.htm it is basically a fanvy AK47.
And I would much rather prefer an M248 over a BAR, the BAR is only used in small forces with no money, military and SWAT teams use the M249 SAW.

But what I would really love to see is this, http://www.world.guns.ru/machine/mg18-e.htm The H&K 21 and 23. Most of the Spec Ops teams use Colt and H&K weapons, so it would fit right in. Or we could add a complete new class, the support class, it could go, M249, M60, then the H&K 23, and for the shotty noobs, give a Jackhammer. They could have the two Frags, 1 flash bang, and 2 smoke grenades. Eh eh? Yeah, you like it, you know you do.

but the full-size minimi can also fire M16/M4 mags too. but a 100-150 rd box could be balanced with 2 75rd drums on "the unit's" weapon.

you mean the 30 round magazine I knew that. It uses the same nato bullets as the m16 does. Ofcourse its true potential can only be seen when you use it with a 100/200 rounder.
