It doesn't matter how many people are on the server- its a trigger activated event. When you walk over the trigger (usually in the middle of the doorframe on the floor) it tells the event to start.

xD Why don't you just play that map online? There are plenty of servers that have it and at least one will be empty so you can vote it and take your time looking around.
