the limbo/deployment menu of the TC:E series never have looked appealing "to me" IMO its not userfriendly for newbies, and what i mean by "not userfriendly" is not about how to use it, but the intuitive designs, like an image for each gun, in the old Q3/TC you could see weopon images on the righ side of the screen evrytime you scroll, wich i think looks awesome... but now you only see text... i know allot of you dont mind that but it looks so bald and bleak, theres nothing wrong if tce's menu's are more intuitive and what i call "happy userfriendly" style...
now 1 year ago i suggested to change the hole mainmenu/interface make it look more professional instead of a "im just modding and i care less about these stuff" type of look, and it is improved allot by the devs now, it looks way more professional now.. now the current limbo/deployment menu isnt really userfriendly for newbies.. and even the pro's
heres why...
for the newbies - evrytime a newbie enters a server he has to figure out how to deploy,
for the pro's - evrytime a pro enters a server he wont know wich team side is available or full.
and i have a simple solution for this... make the limbo/deployment menu appear evrytime you join a server without pressing the L key,
now how the limbo should look like "i made it with paint":

as you can see... it has that "happy userfriendly" type of look/feel, with images for each gun...
now lets talk about the details of it:
now like i said before, people dont know wich team side is full or available, unless they check out the score list, or just guess wich of the team's are available and wait for an answer, but thats time consuming, its better to make it more efficient,
now see this:
there are 3 sections , the left one is specop team, middle one is spectator, and the right one is the terrorist team,
specop and terrorist should have a full/available notification, like i drew on the image above, as you can see the terrorist team is full, and you see something light green above the specop section, it mean its available so you can just click on it and start immediatly, without guessing or without checking the score list... wich is very simple... and mroe comfortable,
and this:
is jsut the classes you can choose for each team you've chosen.
and this:
are the weopon section, you shouldnt just see boring texts of what gun you want to select, but its better to see images like the example above...
you can choose by clicking the arrow left or right, well you know how it works,,
now lets talk about the nade section, if you look good you can see []1 []2 []3 down under the nade selection section. there is a reason why thats located down under the nade section, it should allow players to customize their nade inventory,
read:
Dragonathan wrote: you have grenade/smoke/flash in this game, why not be able to customize the nades by your own choice,
like having 3 flash nades, or 2 flash nades and 1 smoke nade or 1 grenade and 2 smoke nades or choose 3 smoke nades, "well you guys know what i mean" whatever the player wants, it will add a bit more depth into the game, and it gains the what i call "player's freedom - factor" feel...
source: http://www.truecombat.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=812
so example: you want all 3 flashnades, than just select flashnade on the first "[]1" the secont "[]2" and the third "[]3" well you get the point...
and this:
is the image of the model, and you can see you ID... on the model section you can also see "[]1 []2 []3 []4" "selectable square buttons" now thats also a custumisable features like the customizable nade inventory i suggested... but it should be a very simple customizable feature,
example: you choose 1 than you'll get the standard/default model you choose 2 than you'll get a model that's wearing goggles. you choose 3 than you get a model thats wearing full covered masks. you choose 4 than you'll get a models thats just wearing a bonnet,
but remember it is just an example/concept, this idea just needs to be refined by the community/devs,
so it would be appreciated if you have a comment or a better idea for the limbo/deployment menu
