Punk Buster kicks me after about 30 secs. Says : CVAR rate 5000 Needs to be between 8000 & 25000. I can't log back on for 2 min. Only happens on some servers. I've played on them before and now I can't  . What is a CVAR rate? And how can I bring it up? Thanks!

Read this... This should help out a little bit. But, from reading it, I find that you are trying to abuse the game and use it to your advantage.

Thanks for the help  . Not trying to cheat, just comply with server. I like my eye candy turned way up anyway  It was a very good read. Now I will go see if I can make it work.

I used to get that too, but not on all servers. You see, I lower the CSAR rate according to the guides in enemy-territory.com to help improve the packet flow. Turns out, some servers detect those CVAR rate changes as hacks so PB kicks for really insignificant reasons. 10000 should do fine for CVAR rate. That is almost the normaly required rate for T1 internet connections I think. (mbps cable internet) |

PB just causes more problems then it does fix. I remember getting kicked off a server because "Name characters invalid", whatever the hell that means.

I tried to use the ( ~ ) For pb_cvarlist and vid-restart . Nothing happened and I got kicked. Not sure I'm doing it right. Is there another way to do it? |

yes, jsut replace the cfg file with a fresh new one available at enemy-territory.com last time I checked. This will save youf rom a lengthy reinstall. If the CVAR settings are back to default this wont happen. |
