Post subject:  3D Projects

I have most recently purchased through a company a 3D graphics and design program which I find to be very interesting.

If anyone here has bought or ripped, whichever type of person you are, Cinema 4D for their computer and has used the program, you can post your images and projects here.

As if now, I am working on a Star Wars Lightsaber's project.

Here's my first model of a Dual-Sided Lightsaber:

It's a small image, but I'm working on upscaling it.

Tell me what you think. :)

not bad for your first try. have you though of how you will do the glow? those are under videopost effects or filters, im sure you can find it.

BTW, Cinema 4D? is 4D a version number or a reference that says it does up to 4-dimensional. Because if it does, we all should know that perception of 4-D objects is impossible for us, we would simply see it as a 3-D dimentional object. Therefore a program that claims to do 4-D is a hoax. 1d would be a single point, 2d would be a plane between two or more points on the same plane, 3d would be several points in multiple planes in time and space, 4d would be the next step, several 3d. Imagine a cube, it is 3d, a 4d cube would be something like a cube within a cube, within a cube and so on, where you can be inside and outside the same cube at the same time. Ofcourse this is going too far, its just that there have been instances I saw ads claiming they can do 3d and "4d" ultrasound and it really ticked me off.

Just a suggestion, 3d Studio max is actually easier and used more often in game design and cinema effects. Maya is also good and seconds to 3dsMax.

4D is just put on their because it allows you to view animations implemented into the studio from any angle.

It's very n00b friendly believe it or not. I got it down fairly well within the first half-an-hour.

Here's the lightsaber glow I got, but I used Photoshop.

nice but you did use photoshop. If you were using 3dsmax I could show you how to do the videopost effect even with composite effects so that you can put this lightsaber in your hand in a photograph.

Well, you could download Cinema4D, even though it would be technically illegal.

It's an expensive program, I got it for $400, but the market price is around $1000.

I'm still messing around with it because I've only had it for 3 days. :P

sure good for starters, but if you really want to get into the gaming industry, 3dsmax or maya should be your choice.
