nah its still in prototype. plus the devs aint *i-need-a-broader-vocab* to do another weapon. we got the sopmod already. plus, we just want the damn game, not tonnes o' guns which just *i-need-a-broader-vocab* up gameplay, giving that all guns work the same way: shoot, see if he's dead, and shoot again. |

Nice weapon, but its a prototype and the G36 looks cooler and is probably better. ![]() Plus, the devs make their point. |

All XM weapon projects and roll-out plans have been cancelled... The M4 may ultimately be replaced with the SCAR or the some derivative of H&K's M4 work-a-like/derivative the 416... But considering the state of the U.S. economy even that may be decades... The XM·8 is deader then the OICW... ![]() |

The M4 sucks, in my opinion. I'd much wrather have an AK-47. You could roll in a *i-need-a-broader-vocab* mud pit and still be able to shoot it. And the M4 would get jammed after that first grain of sand entered. ~Silentcrisis |

I agree completely Silentcrisis, the M4 would be my last choice of firearm IRL and generally in games just on principle. Sadly a very large part of the Western 'Free World' uses weapons that are M16/M4 deravatives... So in order to be realistic, a game does need to offer some form of the weapon. To be fair the SOCOM, and H&K 416 M4 deravitives are really fine rifles; very easy to control, rugged, very accurate, and have the worlds largest after-market of precision parts and accessories. Though I would agree that even the best M4 still has way too many moving parts for something you're going to hang your life on -- it is a very appropriate weapon for the Urban settings of TC:E with it's low recoil, light weigh, high ROF, and superb accuracy. I believe they mentioned that the current candidate for the xm8 rifle was a H&k design. but the bad thing about is that the heatsheilds would melt after continuos fire and the gun had alot of bugs. The design does look good an very stylish for a gun, kinda looks like a toy tho. There are still alot of designs from different companies that they are testing out to see which one gets the name M8 assault rifle. Didnt I mention xm8 before? I emntioned it to be an objective where the terrorist will have to steal it from the specops, the catch is they can use it too. |

Did you mean the H&K 416 XenoKiLLer? ![]() I hadn't heard anything about heat shield problems but I wouldn't be suprised. There's a nice short barrel CAR version of the rifle too, that would suit TC:E really well... Δ |

No XK, the XM·8 is CANCELLED, the weapon above is the H&K 416 that will likely replace the XM project... Δ |
