For a few days I have a crash with Windows Live Messenger at startup even after reinstall:
Quote:
AppName: msnmsgr.exe AppVer: 14.0.8117.416 ModName: wldcore.dll
ModVer: 14.0.8117.416 Offset: 00002ee5
It seems I'm not the only one, it is recent (a few days) but widespread now (at least in France).
A temporary solution until M$ will do an [non-buggy] update is to remove a key in the registry (but first do an export of its content, as it is deleting all your settings).
It is described in the video for the one who aren't familiar with the registry:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RltGljiEC9Q
The key to [
backup and] remove is:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings
M$, specialist of shitty updates (
It's not a bug, it's a feature
)
P.S.: aMSN and other non-M$ clients are not affected.
Hoping it could help some of you (works fine for me)
